On Prof. Macosko's Research

To be honest, I thought the idea was great. The purpose is rightful, ethical and helpful in furthering the understanding of the interactions between the countless micro tubules and kinesin in each of our cells. The video he sent to us showing the fluorescent micro tubules gliding over the kinesin gave us a visual demonstration of how kinesin would "walk" along the micro tubules in actual cells. I also thought that his presentation was well-balanced, giving enough background information on the basics of DNA cloning to understand how this theoretical concept can be applied to his research. Finally, it was mind blowing to find out that one person can order "DNA" over the phone!
Overall, the presentation jump started my curiosity about research. I look forward in participating in some research field in the near future.

I agree with comrade Rob that the notion of "clone by phone" was really enlightening. Such a concept took me by surprise. It's really amazing what can already be done. While "clone by phone" was an intriguing highlight in the presentation, the rest of it was also good and like always I learned more because i'd known little to begin with. It was good to get to know our pal kinesin better and also to learn about splicing and altering DNA. As the chinese would say, hen hao!

very interesting as cancer has robbed us of our loved ones and has been dreaded death sentence to all the victims it has claimed!!! I welcome with open arms anything that will make it a disease of the past!
